Sales Reporting - Location
How to use the Customer Location Tab and how to use geographic insights to improve targeting and performance.
This guide explains how the Customer Location Tab in TickX IQ visualises where your customers are based and how they engage with your business. It covers how to interpret heat maps, zoom for granular postcode-level insights, analyse Average Order Value by location, and review detailed tabular data broken down by country, region, city, and major city districts. The guide helps you understand customer distribution, spending behaviour, and travel patterns so you can optimise marketing campaigns, tailor regional promotions, and make data-driven decisions using accurate postal/ZIP code data rather than browsing data.
Getting Started
The Customer Location Tab offers a detailed visualisation of where your customers are located and how they are engaging with your business. It provides multiple levels of data, from high-level heat maps to specific numerical values, allowing you to gain valuable insights into customer behaviour and preferences.
Key Features and How to Use Them
Heat Map Overview
- Upon accessing the Customer Location Tab, you will see a heat map that displays the distribution of your customers across a broad geographical area. This high-level view gives an overarching perspective of where most of your customers are located.
- How to Use: Utilise this heat map to identify areas with high customer concentrations. This information is beneficial for understanding your customer base's geographical spread and determining where to focus your marketing efforts or consider expanding services.
The data behind these reports is based on postal code / ZIP code data, rather than browsing data. This means you can accurately see where customers live, so you can understand tourist and day tripper distribution better.
Zoom for Detailed Insights
- You can zoom in on the map to see customer locations at a much more granular level, down to a specific street. As you zoom further in, the heat map transitions to numeric values, indicating the exact number of customers in that area.
- How to Use:
Zoom into specific areas to identify where your customers are most likely to be based. This granular data helps you understand local customer distribution, making it easier to plan neighbourhood-specific marketing strategies
Average Order Value by Location
- The Customer Location Tab also allows you to view the Average Order Value (AOV) by location. This feature helps you understand where in the world your customers are spending more money. For example, you may find that customers from outside your immediate area are making larger purchases than local customers.
- How to Use:
Analyse the AOV data to identify high-value customer regions. This can inform decisions on regional marketing campaigns, pricing strategies, or promotional efforts aimed at different geographic segments.
Tabular Data Presentation
- By scrolling down, you can access a tabular format of the data, which breaks down key metrics such as orders, revenue, AOV, and days until attendance. This information is organised by country, then region, city, and in some cases, down to regions within major cities.
- How to Use:
Use the tabular data to get a structured, easily digestible view of your customer metrics by location. This format is particularly helpful for comparing performance across different regions and making informed decisions based on precise data.
How to Leverage These Insights
- Tailored Marketing Campaigns: Use the location data to design campaigns that target specific customer segments in high-performing regions. For example, if you see a high AOV in certain cities, you could launch exclusive promotions or offers tailored to those areas.
