SnapChat Conversion API

Set up Snapchat Conversion Tracking in TickX IQ using the Snap Conversions API to improve advertising attribution and performance.

This article will guide you through how to set up your conversion tracking for SnapChat.

What is the SnapChat Conversion Tracking?

Tracking uses the SnapChat Conversions API to allow TickX to send order confirmations directly to LinkedIn, which can be used in the same way as standard tracking events, but without any cross channel tracking challenges or cookie blockers.

Any events that have also been fired by the browser pixel are de-duped by SnapChat, but using the SnapChat Conversions API gives advertisers and agencies a belt and braces approach to SnapChat tracking.

Integration Set-Up

  1. Go to TickX IQ > Integrations Hub > SnapChat Conversion API
  2. Add Integration Details
  3. Add Pixel ID
    • Log in to Ads Manager > Menu > Pixels
    • Click Create Pixel, name your pixel, and click create
    • Select the ad accounts you’d like to share the pixel to by typing the ad account name in the search box.
    • In the top right, click the Set-Up Pixel button and select Pixel Code. Enable the Automated Matching toggle.
    • Copy Pixel Code → add this into Pixel ID field in TickX IQ
  4. Add Token
    • Log in to Ads Manager > Menu > Business Details

    • OAuth App section > Conversions API Tokens.

    • Click Generate Token button → add this into Token field in TickX IQ

Testing your set-up

It will take about an hour for any Conversions API events to start pulling through to SnapChat. Once you've given it some time you can check it's working by:

  1. Log in to Ads Manager > Menu > Events Manager > select Test Events.
  2. Select the data source you wish to test events for:

In Snapchat Ads, the consistent property used to prevent duplication between the Snap Pixel (browser-side tracking) and the Snap Conversions API (server-side tracking) is the event_id.

 

Data Triggered in the Conversion API

Here is a list of all of the data sent through within the Conversion API event:

Customer Information:
- Hashed email address
- Hashed IP address
- Browser information
- Snapchat cookie ID (scid)
Purchase Details:
- Order amount and currency
- Order ID/reference number
- Purchase date and time
- Confirmation page URL
- Description: "tickx web sale"
Event Information:
- Event type: "PURCHASE"
- Sign-up method: "Email"
