Spotify Conversion API

Set up Spotify Conversion Tracking with TickX IQ using the Spotify Conversion API for accurate attribution.

What is the Spotify Conversion Tracking?

Tracking uses the Spotify Conversions API to allow TickX to send order confirmations directly to Spotify, which can be used in the same way as standard tracking events, but without any cross channel tracking challenges or cookie blockers.

Any events that have also been fired by the browser pixel are de-duped by Spotify, but using the Spotify Conversions API gives advertisers and agencies a belt and braces approach to Spotify tracking.

Integration Set-Up

  1. Go to https://adsmanager.spotify.com/dashboard and sign in.
  2. Click the three lines in the top left and select Eventsimage (12).png
  3. Click connect data source -> Conversions APIimage (8).png
  4. Under connection name enter TickX IQ (this can be whatever you want)

  6. Select the relevant ad accounts which should get access to this conversion data
  7. Press Done in the bottom right
  8. You will be taken to the Conversion API instructions page, from here copy the Connection ID and paste it into the connection ID box on our site.image (10).png
  9. Press Generate Token on the Spotify website and copy that token value from the Spotify site to our site.image (10).png
  10. Tick the activity toggle to enable the integration.
 
 

Data Triggered in the Conversion API — Spotify
 

Customer Information:
 
  • Hashed email
  • Hashed phone number
  • IP address and browser information
  • Spotify cookie ID (spaid) or other Spotify ad identifier if available
  • External user ID (hashed internal ID if used in your system)
 
Purchase Details:
 
  • Order amount and currency
  • Order ID / transaction reference number
  • Product or content IDs
  • Product / content name, category, and brand
  • Number of items purchased
  • Conversion page or confirmation URL
 
Event Information:
 
  • Event type: "checkout"
  • Source: "web"
  • Language: "en"

In Spotify, the consistent property used to prevent duplication between the pixel and API conversion is the Event ID (event_id).
