Using Annotations in IQ
Use Annotations in TickX IQ to track key events, explain sales trends, and improve team insight sharing.
This guide explains how to use Annotations in TickX IQ to record key moments that impact sales performance, such as marketing campaigns, press activity, cast announcements, or technology updates. You’ll learn how to add annotations directly to sales graphs, categorise them with labels, set specific dates or time ranges, and include supporting information. The guide also covers how to hide annotations from view while retaining access to the full list, helping teams collaborate, communicate context, and better understand the drivers behind sales changes.
Annotations are a powerful tool that allows you to track key points in time, attributing sales to specific offline, or online activity. These allow you & your team to communicate drivers behind sales changes.
What are Annotations?
Annotations are a feature within TickX IQ that lets you add notes to the sales graphs which can attribute key points in time.
These could include:
- Press activity
- Marketing campaigns
- Cast announcements
- New tech rollouts
- Extensions
Adding an Annotation
You can add an annotation by clicking on the speech bubble button to the right hand side of the sales graph.
When you click this you will open up a modal displaying any live annotations in that time period, plus the option to hide and add annotations.
Click the ‘Add annotation’ button. You should give your annotation a clear name. You can also set labels to allow for annotations to be categorised. i.e. marketing, PR, new technology.
Chose either a single date, or a date range if it is for a longer campaign, as well as adding specific timestamps, or time ranges- if your activity can be pinned down to a specific time.
You can add any additional information in the Information field.
Hiding Annotations
If you want to hide annotations from the graphs you can do this by selecting ‘Hide annotation’ in the annotations modal.
This will remove annotations from the graph but you will be able to see how many are removed in the tooltip next to the Annotations button.
